As a not-for-profit and student-run retailer at Queen’s University, OTD is proud to be able to give back to the very community that supports us. This past school year, we've taken meaningful steps toward creating impactful change, right here on campus and beyond. Here's a look at the causes we were honoured to have supported during the 2024-2025 school year:
🏀Tricolour Classic (TCC) - $10,000 Donation
The TCC is a student-run club that raises awareness for Childhood Cancer Research through binding Queen’s students' love for basketball and their faculty. OTD proudly supported their annual Commerce vs. Engineering Basketball Game with a $10,000 donation.
🏒Cure Cancer Classic (CCC) - $3,000 Donation
The CCC is another incredible student-led initiative that harnesses the energy of hockey games to support those currently battling, living with, and moving past cancer. This year, OTD was proud to support CCC’s efforts with a $3,000 donation, helping contribute to their mission of raising awareness for cancer through student-led action.
🎗️Relay for Life - $1,100 Raised
Relay for Life is a global movement that raises money for cancer research and provides hope for those affected by the disease through unforgettable student-led events. OTD formed a team that participated in this year's Queen’s Overnight Relay event, raising $1,100 through donations and t-shirt sales. We’re so grateful to everyone who donated and walked alongside us.
🎓Students Helping Students Bursary - $5,000 Contribution
In collaboration with QUIC and CREO Solutions, OTD co-funded the Students Helping Students Award – a bursary designed to support incoming Commerce students facing financial need. Our contribution represents more than financial aid; it's a promise that ensures no student should be held back from reaching their potential due to financial barriers.
💈Movember - $800 Raised
What began as a fun challenge among friends in Australia has become a global movement raising over $1 billion. This past November, OTD joined the Movember campaign, raising awareness for men’s mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. Our team successfully raised $800, and with each milestone we tackled wild challenges. From polar plunges and milk miles, every challenge helped sparked conversation and support for men’s health.
