UNICEF Queens

UNICEF Queen’s is a student-led club at Queen’s University, representing UNICEF Canada as a campus chapter. UNICEF is the largest child-focused humanitarian agency in the world as its programs address the full range of children’s rights: Health, Education, Equality, and Protection. Our club aims to empower the Queen's community through education, advocacy, and fundraising to make a difference in children’s lives and help them reach their fullest potential.

Relay for Life Queen's

Since 1999 Relay For Life has united a collective of Canadians, who are a force-for-life in the face of cancer. At Relay For Life events, participants of all ages gather at a community space and take turns walking around a track or path to symbolize the perseverance and action needed to change the future of cancer.

Students Helping Students Bursary

Three student-run organizations have joined forces to create a bursary to support incoming Commerce students at Smith School of Business. The “Students Helping Students Award” will be given on the basis of financial need and community involvement to a student entering their first year of the Commerce program.

Big Brothers and Sisters of Canada

For over 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been championing the health and wellbeing of youth. BBBS steps in before it’s too late, to help prevent the physical and mental effects of adverse childhood experiences. BBBS ensures children as young as 7 are supported by caring adults as they overcome these adversities, helping them to do better in life – physically, mentally, socially, emotionally, and academically.

Kingston Interval House

Kingston Interval House (KIH) is a local agency in Kingston, Ontario that provides 24-hour safe emergency shelter, community-based counselling services and Second Stage Housing to women, youth and children who have experienced violence.

Martha's Table

Martha’s Table is a community center within the social welfare network of the City of Kingston. Martha’s Table provides a unique home where respect, compassion, caring and social interaction can occur in an atmosphere of mutual support, with nutritious meals and snacks in comfortable dining and lounge facilities. Martha’s Table provides opportunities for volunteers to give back, gain skills and make a meaningful contribution to the community.

Queen's Commerce Kids is a not-for-profit, student-led social initiative committee focused on making an impact for the children in our communities. Our vision is to be the advocates, supporters, and motivators for all children and shape the leaders of tomorrow.

Step Above Stigma

Step Above Stigma (SAS) is registered Canadian charity dedicated to empowering young adults to break the stigmas that say they are unworthy. SAS is a home that empowers young adults to critically question social norms and step above the stigmas that prevent them from having good mental health. At SAS, we believe that empowerment is the antidote to stigma.

Cystic Fibrosis Canada

Since being founded by parents in 1960, Cystic Fibrosis Canada has dramatically changed the cystic fibrosis (CF) story.

CFC is a national not-for-profit corporation and one of the world’s top three charitable organizations committed to improving and lengthening the lives of people living with cystic fibrosis.

In their 60 year history, CFC has advanced cystic fibrosis research and care that has more than doubled life expectancy for Canadians living with cystic fibrosis. CFC contributed to the global body of CF knowledge, funding research achievements such as mapping the gene that causes cystic fibrosis, in 1989. And we’ve advanced access to life-changing CF medicines in Canada through relentless advocacy and government relations work.

Rainbow Railroad

Rainbow Railroad is a global not-for-profit organization that helps LGTBQI+ people facing persecution based on their sexual orientation, gender identity and sex characteristics. In a time when there are more displaced people than ever before, LGBTQI+ people are uniquely vulnerable due to systemic, state-enabled homophobia and transphobia. These factors either displace them in their own country or prevent them from escaping harm.
