Around the world, the holidays are celebrated in a variety of ways. Some attend family gatherings with special dinners, while others donate their time to give back to their community. From Christmas, to Hanukkah, to Kwanza, there’s something for everyone to celebrate – even if it’s just the New Year’s because congratulations, we made it through another year.
Here’s what the holidays mean to a few members of our team:
“The holidays to me mean spending extra quality time with family and friends. As much as I love gift-giving, what matters most to me is being with loved ones. I also think the holiday season is a great opportunity to take some time for yourself, reflect on the past year and set goals for the year to come. At the end of the day, the holiday season is what you make it. As long as you come out of the holidays feeling content, a little more rested and excited for what’s to come, you’ve done them right!” Olivia McIssac (Internal)
“The holidays allow us time to rest and tell those around us how much we love and care for them. As we get older, it's easy to ignore the season altogether. Still, it’s crucial for me to keep the holiday spirit alive and reflect on all the beautiful years celebrating with my family growing up. If I could answer the question in one word, I would say gratitude. The holidays remind me how fortunate I am, and I’m so grateful to be able to spend them with the people I love doing our favourite things. I’m looking forward to taking a break from school, relaxing with my loved ones, and eating great food this holiday season!" Mikaila Quinlan (E-Commerce)
So, what do the holidays mean to you? Taking a moment to reflect, or perhaps showering your loved one in gifts? Whether it be the latter or something completely different, we hope you have a wonderful holiday season doing something you love.
From our OTD family to yours, Happy Holidays, and we’ll see you all in the New Year.
Until then and as always
